Owen is a Métis professional with ancestral connections to the Foulds and Howes Métis families. He holds a Master of Science in Marketing and a Bachelor of Commerce in Management from the Edwards School of Business at the University of Saskatchewan. His master’s research examined the factors that impact the choice of implicit or explicit cultural branding decisions within Indigenous businesses in Saskatchewan. During his graduate studies, Owen contributed to the Indigenous Business course, the Indigenous Allyship project, and supported Edwards School of Business Indigenous Initiatives team.
Owen is passionate about reconnecting with his Métis heritage and advancing meaningful Indigenous initiatives through education, collaboration, and community engagement. He is committed to fostering relationships and creating opportunities that support Indigenous Peoples and cultural understanding.
Prior to completing his graduate degree, Owen gain experience across several industries, including roles with PepsiCo Foods Canada, the Toxicology Centre at the University of Saskatchewan, and Techtronic Industries Canada Inc. (TTi), the manufacturer of Milwaukee Tool products. During his time at TTi, that he developed a strong reputation for relationship building, strategic account management, and sales excellence, earning recognition as the second-highest volume salesperson in Western Canada in 2021.
Owen's ability to build authentic relationships, connect diverse perspectives, and create meaningful impact continues to be a defining strength throughout his professional and community-focused work.
